Father's Day Weekend

We went to my parent's house for Father's Day weekend. One of my best friends from high school got married on Saturday and then we celebrated Father's Day on Sunday. We had a great, quick, visit hanging out by the pool!

Saturday morning, mom was a great help with all of my sewing projects. Right now, I'm working on 24 aprons for The Lily Pad.

Tubs in Dad's pilot hat!

Of course we went to Wal-Mart on Father's Day.... :)

I thought this was the cutest picture of Haley so far!
Doesn't she look so innocent??

Hanging out by the pool!

Tubs favorite spot!

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Of course, they got a cupcake also! They loved it.

Consisted of relaxation with friends on the river, a wedding, and hunting for bugs!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, obviously!

30 Minute Tank Dress

Mom sent me this link yesterday. With some different color options, I thought it would make an extremely cute dress! I had an old shirt that had a hole towards the bottom so I thought it would be perfect to cut off and make into a dress.
I got this fabric from my favorite fabric store in Tupelo. When searching through their scrap bin, you pay by the pound...I may have spent .50 on this piece of fabric...maybe. When I first found this piece, I had absolutely no clue what I would do it with...just knew I loved it.
Step One: Cut off shirt to desired length
Step 2, 3, & 4: Sew fabric together and gather top edge to fit the t-shirt size.
From here, you just sew the fabric to the shirt.
extremely. easy.
Ta Da!!!
I am actually now in search of a mustard color belt to go with this. I think the splash of color will look much better than the brown. Cute, isn't it?!

p.s. The title of the dress actually held true.

Luck of the Irish

Oh. my. goodness. This dessert will absolutely knock you off your feet! We had it for the first time at our friends house for St. Patrick's Day. Phillip fell in love....so I thought I'd try my hand at it last weekend. To my (and I'm sure Phillip's) surprise...it turned out absolutely delicious!! The toffee gooey yumminess that is poured over the top is what makes it! Trust me...if I can do it....ANYONE CAN!! :)

Small Disclaimer:
Instead of the dried dates, Jannie and myself used raisins. Also, if you decide to make it...I would use a square or rectangular glass baking dish instead of the muffin tin. Trying to get the muffin shaped cake out of the tin was a bit difficult. GOOD LUCK!!

the. best. part. hands down!

BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE TRAHAN'S FOR INTRODUCING
THIS DELICIOUS DESSERT TO US!!!!
Our thighs and taste buds thank YOU!!! :)

Blessed!

GOD is GOOD, ya know? I sure do!

Yesterday was my first day at my new job! I am now a counselor for the State of Mississippi Division of Rehabilitation. My caseload will be individuals who are unable to return to work at this present time. I will be working with them, making sure they are receiving services, paying their services, etc.. Best part is I'm not going to be sitting in an office all day. I'm out and about in the community visiting my clients in their homes. SO excited! Although I'll miss working with the girls at The Lily Pad, I'm excited to start this new adventure in my life.

Nothing better....
