HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

We've got our candy bucket ready now all we need are a few trick-or-treaters!! :)

10/28/11

Dear Lee,

As your momma, the absolute sweetest feeling in the whole entire world is feeling you move around and kick inside my belly. However, at 3:45am, momma is usually sleeping. Trying to sleep through what feels like a football scrimmage going on in my stomach is proving to be very difficult. I know your least favorite position for me to sleep is my side, but doctor's orders are no sleeping on the back. Daddy even bought me a boppy pillow to sleep with to make both of us more comfortable. Again, I'm sure these are the least of your worries at this time, but maybe keep the scrimmage down to a couple minutes instead of 45....Thanks buddy!!

I love you,

Mom

Patience

Welcome to our nightly routine. Tubs and Haley get fed at the same time every night. While Haley eats in 10 seconds (maybe less...), Tubs eats in 10 minutes (maybe more....). No joke. Once finished, she lays patiently by Tubs to see if he will leave just one morsel of food in his bowl. Rarely does he leave anything.....but Haley is sure to wait patiently, every night. I wonder if our child will have as much patience as Haley.....Only time will tell! :)

Dear Lee,

I know you are busy growing and probably have many more things to worry about, but mommy sure would appreciate it if you could move up just a little!! I sure would enjoy being able to drink a glass of water again without having to use the restroom 10 minutes later. Again, I know this is probably the lest of your concerns, but it's become rather humerous around the office when my co-workers see me trot off to the bathroom 6-7 times per day!! :) Thanks buddy!!

I love you,

Mom

Pumpkin Cookies!

Found a delicious recipe for pumpkin cookies off pinterest from this website! Phillip downed two cookies after the first batch of 6 so I'd say they were a hit!! :)

The cream cheese icing just made the cookies! I also added a little cinnamon/sugar combo on top of each cookie. DELICIOUS!

I strongly recommend this recipe, but I would cut it in half. The recipe cut in half still made almost 24 cookies.

22 Weeks!

How Far Along: 22 weeks

Size of Baby: Lee weigh’s about a pound and is approximately 11 inches long.

Total Weight Gained/Lost: Up 11 lbs.....confirmed by the doctor last Thursday.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lee is an active little booger!! He moves around all the time. I'm carrying him so low that every time he kicks, it feels like his target is my bladder! ;) Tonight for the first time, we both saw my stomach move from the outside.....pretty crazy! My sister was also the first to feel him kick outside of Phillip....he was doing all sorts of tricks Sunday evening for her.

Sleep: Can't complain....I know it's better than it will be 10 weeks from now!!

What I miss: Nothing much right now

Cravings: Apple Sauce this week....ate a big ole' bowl tonight!

Aversions: Nothing lately

Symptoms: Indigestion and some other "symptoms" that aren't fun to talk about so we'll leave those alone.

Highlights from this week: I went to the doctor last Thursday.....heard little Lee's heartbeat again. It was right at 140. Doctor said it's completely normal for it to start slowing down the closer he gets to delivery. The diabetes appointment is up next.....not really looking forward to that one.

21 Weeks

(Sorry this is a week late....literally haven't had time to sit down and post)

How Far Along: 21 weeks (I feel like these updates are coming around faster and faster each week….)

Size of Baby: Lee weigh’s a little less than a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long.

Total Weight Gained/Lost: Not sure….next doctor’s appointment is Thursday. More on this next week! J

Maternity Clothes: Yes…and is it too early to say I’m already sick of them?? Yes? Crap.

Movement: Yes! Absolutely by far the best part of my day…..he’s moving around so much now that I’m starting to notice patterns, etc. of his little schedule already. Funny story: The other night I was updating our registry on the computer and I had the laptop sitting on my belly (it’s quickly becoming a great “setting” place…ugh), and I noticed that after a few minutes he would start to kick. I moved the computer to try and feel him…and he would stop (of course!). I placed the computer back on my stomach and he would kick some more, I’d move it and he’d stop. Get the picture?! Not sure what it was he didn’t like…either it was the little extra pressure or the heat from the computer! Little snot!

Sleep: Same ole, Same Ole…..

What I miss: My closet!!!!

Cravings: Besides the usual fruit, I haven’t had anything crazy lately….

Aversions: Nothing lately!

Symptoms: Starting to get some indigestion at certain times during the day. Nothing horrible…I’ve just never experienced this before so I wasn’t sure of what it was at first. Maybe this means he’ll have a head full of hair like his daddy did when he was born!!! J

Highlights from this week: We have officially started “working” on the nursery. First step is cleaning out all the junk that has accumulated over the past month. Got that completed plus paint picked out this last weekend. We are “scheduled” to paint in a couple weeks when we have some more free time during the weekend!! So excited!

Lee's Room!!

Finally...a weekend at home with NOTHING to do. It's been months since this has happened. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and were actually extremely productive! Yesterday we woke up and made an early grocery run along with a paint run for the nursery. We have this metal shelf and basket that we were given from Phillip's grandmother's house. All along we've said we want to use it somewhere in the nursery. Since everything else (crib, changing table, etc.) will be wood, I wanted a splash of color!

Before.....
After.....

We also got around to cleaning out the nursery from all my sewing/Phillip's music stuff. I was worried about where we were going to put it all, but we've managed! With a lot of purging and a little more storage packing, we made it all fit perfectly.

Embarrassed to show you this "before" picture....

AFTER!!! :)
(still a couple things to move out/take to mom...then we're good!)

Computer/Sewing/Guest Room
A bit cramped, but will have to do for now!

We now have an (almost) empty room...but not for long!! The crib and changing table are at the in-laws just waiting to make the move over. So excited to get this room started....next step (in two weekends when we have yet ANOTHER free weekend) is painting!!

10/5/11

20 Weeks! HALF WAY!!!!

How Far Along: 20 Weeks!!!!!

Size of Baby: Lee weighs 10 1/2 ounces this week and is the size of a banana!

Total Weight Gained/Lost: Probably gained a few more in the past couple of weeks. Probably up 8ish lbs. by this point.

Maternity Clothes: Yes! ALTHOUGH....I put on some pre-maternity jeans jeans yesterday because my ONE pair of maternity jeans were dirty. Thank goodness for the rubber band trick I was able to wear them all day!! (and I was comfortable!!) :)

Movement: YES YES YES!!! Phillip was able to feel him move for the very first time the other night at like 5am. The dogs had woken us up for some reason and as we were going back to sleep, Lee starting kicking around. I wasn't sure if Phillip was going to be able to feel him but finally he said "wait...was that you??"...haha! I assured him there is no way I can make the inside of my stomach move like that. He was pretty excited!

Sleep: Let's just not talk about it.....last night I ended up on the couch after being awake from 3-4:45am. Haley and I slept pretty well once we moved to the couch!

What I Miss: Last night I was talking to a good friend who is about a month ahead of me, and we both decided that lately what we miss is being able to "be on the go" as long as we used to be able to. I've definitely started noticing that I can't push myself any longer than I should because I'll definitely start to feel it in my lower back as well as just being mentally and physically exhausted. Definitely not used to my body reacting like this....

Cravings: Still the fruit. Drinking a strawberry banana smoothie AS I TYPE! :)

Aversions: Nothing lately

Symptoms: Still feeling great! Phillip and I are going to start clearing out the "nursery" room this weekend. SO excited to get this process started!!

Highlights from this week: By far this week was when Phillip was able to feel Baby Lee move for the first time. He has been dying to feel him....it made me SO excited when this finally happened! Also, it's hitting the half way point in this pregnancy. So far so good! (**knock on wood!)
