Nursery Update!

We're making progress, people!!! I came home from work yesterday and Phillip was painting away on some things for Lee's nursery. Completely made my day to see this.....he's so excited about becoming a dad and I LOVE it!

This door hanger was actually Phillip's idea. I love it!!
Finished picture is below....

Cute, right?!

Shelves are hung....although we need to move the bottom one down just a bit. That's next week....haha!

The lighting is HORRIBLE in this picture....so sorry!
Hopefully you get the picture of what it looks like.
I'm loving every bit of what we are doing with his room....slowly but surely, it's coming together!

31 Weeks! (again...a week late!)

Random picture for my 31 week I know....It's the only one I have!

How far along: 31 weeks.....9 to go!!!

Size of baby: Lee is almost 4 lbs and is approximately 17 inches long

Total weight gained/lost: I'm up 18 lbs.. Ugh.

Maternity clothes: Yes

Movement: Yes, I feel like he is moving more now than he ever has! I've always heard its the opposite once the 3rd trimester starts....hmm.

Sleep: Ehh....no comment.

What I miss: Nothing new this week....

Symptoms: Heartburn/Indigestion. Horrible!

Aversions: Nothing new this week.

Highlights this week: Well last week, (since this is a week late....opps!) was celebrating our last Christmas as a family of 2 with our family and friends. We are extremely excited about next year's Christmas with toys and more chaos!! :) Wouldn't want it any other way!! :)

Baby CPR

Last Saturday we went to a birthing class at the hospital I'll be delivering. We mainly went to get a tour of the hospital and to learn baby CPR. We actually learned much more than that and enjoyed the class. There were many things that neither of us had heard before about caring for newborns, breastfeeding, labor and delivery, etc.. We came away a bit nervous about D-day (as Phillip calls it) but very excited to meet our little baby boy in just 2 short months! Of course, I took a picture while at the class and just felt the need to share it! This is Phillip and his baby for CPR. Can you see the resemblance?! :)

30 weeks!

How far along: 30 weeks.....10 to go!!!

Size of baby: Lee is a little over 3 lbs and is approximately 16 1/2 inches long

Total weight gained/lost: After not gaining anything last month, I'm officially back on the "gaining" train. Ha! I'm up a total of 18 lbs. It's all for the baby, right?! :)

Maternity clothes: Yes....all bottoms for sure. There are still certain tops I can wear that are not maternity but for the most part everything is maternity.

Movement: Yes....of course! Movements are starting to feel different this week. I can tell he is getting bigger and running out of room. His movements are more rolls, arms, elbows, ect.. Not quite like they were before with the flutters and quick jabs and kicks.

Sleep: Sleep is still ok....back and hips hurt but whats new! :)

What I miss: I'm missing sleeping on my back. Having to solely sleep on my side is getting extremely old. I also miss being able to move as quickly as I used to be able to.

Symptoms: Heartburn! Ugh. I used to not be able to stand Tums....they're now my best friend.

Aversions: Nothing new this week! BUT, my craving is pure CHOCOLATE right now!!! Pretty much since the third trimester started....chocolate has been my number one craving. Its dangerous.

Highlights this week: No new highlights this week. We've just been hanging out at the house getting stuff done around here. We are slowly working on the nursery and working to get it completed. We still have a long ways to go with that. It'll come....It'll come! We figure it will be a good 6 weeks before he sleeps in his own room by himself anyway so if its not completely finished by the time he's born, we're ok. Does this make us bad parents already? Yes? Oh well.

Burp Cloths Galore!

So mom had made Lee a couple of these burp clothes a few weeks back. I love bright colors and fun prints when it comes to things like this. I have a couple of the standard, plain white ones also, but these will be what we use most of the time!! I thought I'd add to his collection tonight and made about 6 more. Half way through sewing these, I had to assure Phillip that we would in fact go through probably all of these at one time! I've been told by numerous people that you can never have too many burp clothes and bibs. Can't wait for this little guy to get here already!!! :)

Kashi

**Fair Warning: Extremely Random Post**

Just a quick plug for all of my thousands of readers out there. (....sense the sarcasm) Phillip and I came across these little individually sized portions of Kashi cereal the other day at the grocery store. What a great little snack!! Best part is, they are packed full of protien and fiber. 12 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber to be exact! Who doesn't need/want more fiber in their diet?! Seriously though, I've been snacking on one of these throughout the day when I get hungry. With the protein intake, they keep me satisfied and that slight hunger pain at ease. We bought the kind with blueberries. And, for .50 cents a pack, who wouldn't give it a try?! :)

LHS

I went back to the doctor on Thursday for my last "monthly" check-up. He's wanting to see me every two weeks from here until February. Pretty crazy that time has flown by so quickly....we are SO ready to meet our little baby. While at the doctor, they decided to try again and get a full shot of his little face. Of course, his hands and feet were up near his face almost the entire time. The first picture below we thought was a better quality of his little face....I'm loving those chubby little cheeks! The other is of him sucking his thumb. We figured all along this would probably be the case as his mommy and daddy were both thumb suckers when they were little. Like my mom always said "you never lose your thumb!!" ;)

Snow!

I swear, I'm like a kid on Christmas morning anytime it snows. I love it! Even though we are only supposed to get an inch or so and be melted by noon, it still made my morning. I got up, opened the blinds, and yelled at Phillip (at 6:45am) to get up and look!! He wasn't NEARLY as excited as I was, but I didn't care....I made him get up anyway.

Happy December everyone! :)

29 Weeks!

(excuse the red face...we had JUST walked in from taking a walk and it was COLD outside!)

How far along: 29 weeks!

Size of baby: Lee is 3 lbs and is about 17 inches long....he is measuring about a week early at this point, though! :) We could have a Valentine's baby on our hands!!

Total weight gained/lost: I'm up 13 lbs. at this point....we finally got a scale at our house last week. Doctor will confirm on Thursday...

Maternity clothes: Yes, Yes and Yes

Movement: All the time! After seeing the 3D/4D today, it's mostly his little hands doing all the moving. He's such an active little fella....punching and moving those arms all day!

Sleep: Sleep is still in the "ehh..Ok" status....not horrible by any means, though.

What I miss: I'm really missing my regular clothes right now....getting sick of the maternity wardrobe.

Symptoms: I am really starting to notice my energy level decreasing towards the end of the day. There are other "3rd trimester" symptoms that are starting to sneak in at this point but I'll let you look those up on your own if your interested. Ugh.

Aversions: Nothing crazy this week....Although sweets are DEFINITELY a craving in this trimester. I can't get enough chocolate to save my life!

Highlights this week: Definitely our 3D/4D ultra-sound from today! It was so fun getting to see a small glimpse of his little personality...he was making all kinds of funny faces for us. He definitely likes his hands near his face as he stayed like that the whole 2 hours! We think he's a good mixture of both of us, although he may favor his momma a little more! ;)

3D/4D

We had our 3D/4D ultrasound this morning and it was SO much fun!! We love our doctor's office and everyone there! Ginger, our ultra-sound technician spent almost 2 hours with us trying to get "that perfect shot!!" He never would turn his head fully towards us so she said we can come back another time to try and get a full face picture. We did, however, get some cute shots! Below are just a few of the better ones. He would NOT put his little hands down from his face though.....he may not like a swaddle after all!! :)

Rubbing his little eye with his toes curled up in the lower right hand corner!

We are calling this his "mean face"....he has his little eye brows furrowed and mouth open like he's about to talk back! ;)

Sweet side view.....we were laughing at this picture because (bless his heat) he sure does have his momma's lips! Look at that upper lip stuck out over his bottom one....haha!

As you can see....we are just *slightly* in love with our little boy already!!

12/4/11

Aubie!

I love Aubie!! Probably my favorite thing about Auburn, actually. So you can only imagine how excited I was about receiving this onsie from mom at our Oxford shower. And to top things off, she painted it herself!!! Can't WAIT to put Lee in this little onsie. Thanks Mom!!

Oxford Shower

We have been so blessed with the friends we have made so far in Oxford. Last night some good friends of mine threw us a sweet baby shower. It marked our first shower for baby Lee. We had a great time and got some SUPER cute things. Celebrating last night made it all the more real about the arrival of our sweet baby boy in just 2 1/2 short months!!! Thank you to everyone who made the night so special. We couldn't thank you enough!!

The food was delicious!

ADORABLE cake as you can see from both of these pictures.....and delicious too!!

We received some adorable gifts! So excited about using all these things when Lee arrives!

Glad mom could make it....loved having her there!

Group shot...minus a few! These girls are great!
