Happy 1st Birthday Lee!

Happy birthday, Lee!!

What a special year it has been for me and your daddy! We have learned so much about being parents.

It has definitely been the most challenging yet most satisfying year of our marriage so far. We wouldn't trade being your parents for the world. We love your little personality and can't wait to see you mold into a fine young man.

We love you, so much!

Week From Hell.

Excuse my language....really. But last week truly was the week from down under. Probably one of the worst weeks we've had as a married couple. The Sunday after Lee's birthday party, he woke up with pink eye. It looked horrible. Luckily our pediatrician called in some drops first thing Sunday morning and we were able to get it under control rather quickly.

Monday morning (around 3am) I woke up feeling extremely nauseas. Little did I know, the worst stomach virus OF MY LIFE, was about to hit...with a vengeance. It was awful. I have "normal low blood sugar" and therefor when I get sick, it drops below normal, resulting in me passing out quite often. I passed out about 4 times before noon, once almost lasting 2 full minutes. My sister was still in town and it scared her and Phillip to death. Luckily, Phillip is good friends with my doctor, text him, and he immediately told Phillip to bring me in. He had me bypass the ER, go straight to the 4th floor, and straight to my room.

Yes...we LOVE Dr. Smith. They immediately got some fluids going and did blood work. At first, he was scared it may have been my appendix....thankfully it just turned out to be severe dehydration. He did have me spend the night and released me Tuesday mid-morning. Monday night, as Phillip was headed back up to the hospital with clothes, he accidentally backed into my car. Ugh. He felt awful. It was parked randomly and he forgot it was there. Oh well....cars can be fixed.

My sister and her kids were still in town helping with Lee. She also cloroxed my entire house. It was so nice having her here. Lexi ended up getting a mild case of the virus and spent most of Monday evening in bed. Tuesday, we thought we were on the mend. Nope. Ashley was next. Yuck! Tuesday night we went to bed early. Ashley came and woke me up around 4am letting me know my sister and triston were both sick as dogs. Bless their hearts. Wednesday morning, my sister decided to just try and get past it and get on the road home. She was scared that if we didn't seperate, we were going to continue to pass it between all of us. They got to Birmingham, and had to pull over and get a hotel. They were BOTH still sick. Lastly, Phillip ended up getting sick all day Thursday while I was back at work and Lee at daycare.

Keep in mind, my mom ended up taking it back as well as Phillips grandmother. YUCK! To say we are glad last wee is history, is an understatement. Thank you Lord, for health and happiness this week!!

Lee's 1st Birthday Party

What a fun day! We celebrated Lee's first birthday last weekend. Lee is obsessed with anything Mickey so it just made sense for that to be the theme. I had such a fun time planning an preparing.

We decided on the youth room at church. It just made sense as there was a kitchen right there with plenty of room. Thankfully our youth minister is awesome and didn't mind one bit us using the room. I was a bit worried because we had to work around a funeral and wedding taking place at the church that day, but it ended up working out perfectly.

We had lots of great help before. Some not even pictured that kept Lee while we got this shin-dig together.

We had a delicious menu including Mickeys clubhouse sandwiches (turkey, pimento cheese, and PB&J for the kids), Goofy's goldfish, Pete's pasta, Pluto's popcorn, Chip and Dales chips and dip and of course, Donald's drinks. The Mickey drinks where a huge hit with the kiddos.

Thank you Pinterest for lots of the decorating ideas. I love how it all turned out!

I have to admit, my favorite part was the cake and Lee's smash cake. I have a friend that works at emilieghs bakery in town and volunteered to decorate Lee's cakes. She did a FANTASTIC job! I was thrilled with out they turned out.

The cake was probably Lee's favorite part as well. As you can see below...

I think he defined the "smash cake" theory! He loved it. And it didn't hurt that the cake was from emeleighs AND strawberry flavored.

I love this picture because its Lee and ALL of his cousins...on both sides. I wish we would of gotten one with all the kids who came...it was a bit hectic and I completely forgot. Oh well....next year. ;) thank you to everyone who came! We had a great time and Lee was showered with love and happiness!!

Valentine's Treat

Nana and grandad sent Lee money in his valentines day card to get his very own yaya's treat! (Usually he just shares with momma and daddy..) He got vanilla bean with sprinkles and a couple blueberries.

He absolutely loved it and ate the whole thing!!

Thank you, nana and grandad, for the delicious treat!!!
