What might have been...

Paster Michael had an excellent service this last Sunday on Holy Week. The whole message was about the week leading up to Easter Sunday. I have always grown up talking about Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, etc., but never this full week leading up to his death. He knew he was going to be crucified at the end of the week, and still went on preaching and telling others about his message.

The true character of a person is shown by the way we act in a crisis situation as well as a glorious situation. Jesus did not blame others for his death, he was taking the situation and trusting God's plan for his life. Wow! I know when things are not going exactly how I feel they should be going, I tend to put blame on others; "Well, if you would have done this..." or "If my boss would have done that...". Ultimately what Pastor Michael was trying to relay is that if we have full trust in Jesus, then our character, how we act in EVERY situation, will remain positive.

Continuously reminding myself just this during the week leading up to Easter will hopefully allow myself to realize more of what Jesus went through this entire week. Remember, Jesus' character stayed strong during all the adversity he was facing. Trust that God has everything already mapped out for our lives and it will be easier in the long run for us to follow and live by his word, then to try and take over and fail.

This Holy Week, I hope to remind myself with every situation (positive or negative) I experience, realize that it is for a reason. I've got to remind myself to just: LET GO AND TRUST!
