The Simplicity of the Plant

I was laying on my bed this morning listening to some music staring out the window. Pitiful? No. Baby was asleep and it was quiet. Except for my music. Peaceful and just what I needed today!

I noticed this plant next to our window and got to thinking. I'm not the best at keeping plants. Totally stink at it, actually. I tend to forget about watering them. Not on purpose, mind you, just get busy with day to day things and forget. When I do remember to water, it never takes long to perk back up and look alive for a couple days. It doesn't take much water at all. 1/2 a cup to a cup full every couple of days.

Started applying this to my everyday walk. God doesn't require tons of our time. He asks for just a little each day. Have you notice that when you aren't in his Word how dead, dry, and desperate you feel? I sure do. Once I read a couple chapters in my bible, do a quick quiet time, or just sit in prayer while listening to music, I feel so alive, rejuvenated and energized! This simple plant is such a reminder to me of how I need to be living on a daily basis. Thank you Lord, for speaking to me this morning, through this plant. Sound silly? It may. It worked for me, and God knew I needed this simple reminder today. :)

Happy Saturday, everyone!
