Nashvegas Vacation!

We met some of our best friends, Melinda and Thomas, in Nashville last weekend for a visit. We hadn't seen them since we moved from Jax so we were really looking forward to the visit. The weekend started out at a delicious breakfast joint called Sky Blue. They had the BEST French toast pancakes. Two pancakes with bananas and nutella in the middle....

Next stop was Opry Land Hotel as well as a small tour through Cooters. The Wildlife Turkey Federation convention definitely makes the Opry Land hotel a bit more interesting....

After Opry Land, we walked through Vandy's campus and found the bookstore. We went to get Thomas a Vandy shot glass. Melinda and I lost the guys for a bit and found them here. Student book department...bless their hearts!!

From there we enjoyed a two hour long "manager special" at our hotel and then headed to dinner.

Before dinner we walked around downtown and found this boot store! I think they like each other.... ;)

Sunday we ate at a place called The Dog. Absolutely delicious hot dogs. We tried to find places that were local places to eat instead of the normal pancake pantry, blue bird cafe, etc. (although there is nothing wrong with these places of course...just thought we would try something different!) After talking to a friend that lives in downtown Nashville, I think we definitely found the local spots!!

We didn't want the weekend to end. We love hanging out with Melinda and Thomas and miss them SO much since we've moved. Looking forward to meeting up with them again in ATL over memorial day weekend!! 3 months!!

Hypnotized

This last weekend we traveled to my parents for the weekend to celebrate my niece getting baptized. This is such a huge step in a persons faith and we were so excited to be there for Ashley. She was a little nervous but very proud of the decision she had made.

Explanation of the title: as we were walking into church Sunday morning, my mom asked Lexi if she was going into her Sunday School class during the service. Lexi responds with "no, I'm going to stay in big church to watch Ashley get hypnotized!". We all of course laughed and it became the joke of the weekend. You never know what's going to come out of that child's mouth.

All kidding aside we were very proud of Ashley and the decision she made to accept Christ and be baptized. We love you very much, Ashley!!

One of the only pictures I got all weekend was after church at lunch!! These two think he has absolutely hung the moon...
