FSU Weekend

Last weekend was the first weekend we have been able to spend in Tallahassee. We had a great time hanging out with friends from Phillip's Master's program and with each other! Friday we went over to a fellow classmates house. A fun group of 2nd years came over and we had a blast sitting on the back porch hanging out. Saturday, Phillip had his dress rehearsal for their concert which took place on Sunday. Tubs and I slept in (first time in WEEKS!!) until almost 11:00am! Tubs LOVES to sleep in and literally will stay asleep until you get up and get going for the day. Its great! Saturday evening we attended a Low Country Boil in Thomasville, GA (only about a 45 min. drive from Tally). A class-mate of Phillip's invited everyone out to his family’s for the evening and we had a blast! Phillip thoroughly enjoyed (being the Southern Gentleman, he is) showing everyone at our table how to peel and eat the Craw Fish. The food was delicious!! Sunday we wrapped up the weekend with the annual Summer Chorus Concert. All of the second year students conduct a piece during the concert in which they have been working on all summer. The conductors have 8 minutes per rehearsal (about 8 rehearsals) to prepare the choir for the concert. I thought Phillip did an outstanding job!! I can't believe how much he has grown as a conductor and musician from attending this 6 week summer Master's Program! It has been well worth our time apart and money. One more to go and he will have completed step 2 of his career goal!! (I'm very proud of him if you can't tell!!) :) Enjoy the pictures and video below!
