Just got in from a great weekend in PTC. I met Phillip at my parents house for the weekend for a quick visit. We had a great time relaxing and spending time with family. We were also able to spend the evening Saturday celebrating Ashley's 11th birthday.
Nightly drive to get coffee and ice cream!!
The Birthday Girl with some of her new clothes on!
While we were there, we gave Lexi her birthday present since we won't be able to make it to her party. One of her presents was this Justin Beiber poster....I had never heard of him but apparently girls her age are obsessed. She told me as soon as we got home that she wanted to hang it on her bedroom door so she could look at it every day!!
While we were home we visited my parents church. We have gone a couple different times in the past and always enjoy listening to the sermons. Sunday, they were finishing up a three part series called "The Waiting Room". The sermon this week was changing your focus as you "wait" for something major to happen in your life. He gave examples of people wanting to get married, wanting to find the perfect job, wanting to have children, etc.. The message was focused on Isaiah 40: 26-31. The main point of the sermon was to focus on the "who" instead of the "what and when". When we put our focus on the what and when, often times we are left empty. If we put our focus on the Who (God) then we are fulfilled every day by his grace and renewed by his Spirit and NEVER left feeling empty.
Southside is a satellite church off of Andy Stanley's church in Atlanta. They're great at updating their websites with current sermon series. The entire three part series of "The Waiting Room" is on their website: www.southside.org. Enjoy!!
